It’s been a too long since I’ve put together an inspirational list of any kind, with that in mind, I’ve assembled this list. This is part 2 of a 3 part series on designing and coding a website header and navigation. In this tutorial, we will take the graphic we created in part 1 and save the images so we can use them when we code the site in part 3.

I’ve re-written portions of the Design a Website Header and Navigation tutorial. My apologies to anyone who finished the tutorial and would like to use it for part II. You’ll find that this version isn’t much different, but I feel it’s a little easier to step through and will work better for the coding portion.

Whether you love ‘em or hate ‘em social media sites are only getting stronger, and they are not going anywhere. The shear volume of them can be a tad overwhelming. That being said, they are vital to your success as a blogger.

The basic look is still the same, but the site has taken on a bit of a different header. The logo was made a little bigger and the splatter was turned. I also changed my slogan and make it look handwritten.

Since I’m not about to go out and spray paint my website on the side of a city wall, I figured I could at least simulate the look in Photoshop. With the help of some awesome brushes from Bittbox and Deviant Art and a cool font I found at Dafont. The effect is rather easy to create, here’s how.

This is the first of a three part series on the basics of how to create a website header and navigation using Photoshop and Dreamweaver. In this part we will be designing our fictional company’s header in Photoshop.

MyInkBlog was down again today for about 2 or 3 hours. That’s not all that bad in the big scheme of things, but it’s happened at least 5 times in the last two months. I don’t want to go out of my way to bash my hosting company, but I can’t help but be annoyed.
