Final Thoughts

I found all these fonts at my favorite free font site – Font Squirrel. The best part is they are available for commercial use! So what did you think of this list? What are your favorite free sans serif fonts?

Oh dear! Had to download them all…

Then just had to go to Font Squirrel and see what else I could find.

I agree with Angie — Fontin gets my vote. It’s just lovely.

I agree with the people who liked Fontin. The others seem to be just ordinary, no better nor worse than the hundreds of other sans-serif fonts around.

@Eli and @maYO Two very nice inclusions! Thanks for adding them. I definitely would say they are worthy of this list, but I wanted to limit it to ten :)

any alternative to the overused overrated helvetica is nice. dunno… after the movie came out…. it just kinda did it for me as far as ruining it as a font i ever wanna use again. big futura fan, tho.

@kevin – On that Museo Sans link, scroll down the page till you see Museo Sans 500. That’s the weight version of this font that is free of charge. Click to add it to the cart and follow through the checkout.

I think Fontin looks fantastic but wow, I think it just scrapes in as a sans serif.

I’ve been using the Bitstream in headings for a while now and it’s amazing how many people are asking “what’s that font? – it looks great”.
