Series Overview

Introduction

This is the final post in my awesome font series. I definitely made a conscience decision to save my favorite genre for last. I think most designers would agree that the grunge style has a unique appeal because of the freedom it allows. These 10 free fonts are perfect for distressing your designs.

Great list! I would suggest Grunge Serifia! It’s a beautiful slab serif font with some grunge. Here is the link to download

@Tim – Nice selection, I definitely have that one in my collection. I love the look, but I do hate how it slows down my design, it’s a very bulky font.

there are two that need to be removed from this list…..Bleeding Cowboys and Birth of A Hero over used and non creative…..I’m boycotting bands that use Bleeding cowboys in album art or posters!!!

    Seriously……I am

I have to agree with the previous note. I have grown to hate Bleeding Cowboys and Birth of a Hero. They are beautifully designed but are so overused.

It is similar to that sketchy rockwell font that is all over the place right now, it was great until EVERYONE used them. It destroys the originality and creativity of the project

Great fonts Abite is my favorite one, some fonts are too overdone I think, it’s easy to do that.

@L.Evans – You’ll need a program that decompresses zip files to use the fonts. There are quite a few to choose from. If you are on a pc, check out WinRAR or WinZip. If you are on a mac, check out StuffIt Expander or MacRAR.

  11. These fonts just scream angst. What a rage-filled, powerful set! Thanks for the upload. I’ve been looking for something akin to Bleeding Cowboys for days. Now, I’ve found it!

I like the Downcome font since it has a very nice “flair” to it yet it’s very readable.
