I’ve been chatting up a redesign for MyInkBlog on Twitter and this site for quite some time now. The redesign/rebranding of my blog has proven to be one of the most challenging design jobs I’ve ever had to complete. I’m not at all surprised that most designers are their own worst enemy, and I was certainly no exception to that theory.

In case you have been living under a rock the past few days, and the rock doesn’t have Wifi access or any trade publications being delivered with any regularity, Apple’s iPad has landed! But the online reception has been far less than stellar, in fact it has aired a little on the cold side.
2009 marked the end of a swift moving decade. For MyInkBlog, it was filled with big growth from a statistics and learning perspective. I am thankful for all the awesome readers and guest authors that helped make this community fun and possible.
I don’t usually do ‘pat on my own back’ style posts, but I really wanted to share this news with MIB readers. Recently, I was approached to contribute a tutorial to MacUser magazine. Needless to say I was humbled, and jumped at the opportunity to be published in the popular UK magazine.

John Resig and the jQuery team recently released Sizzle, a new CSS selector engine as a spin off from the jQuery project, announcing its release when jQuery 1.3 was made available for download.
Most of us in the design community love working on projects, but dread the small rather important details like time tracking and invoicing — at least I do. My lack of zeal for invoicing has led me to look for ways to make that part of the job a little more tolerable.
I’m so thankful for the sponsors here on MyInkBlog! Without their support it would be financially impossible to keep things running. But they serve as more than just a support system for blogs like mine.
Some of you may have noticed that MyInkBlog was down the last couple of days. Unfortunately, when I switched hosts from StartLogic to the awesome guys at Eleven2 I wasn’t able to transfer the domain name as well. So when I canceled my StartLogic account I had no way of knowing that my domain name was about to expire.
On May 9, 2009, my wife and I celebrated the birth of our first child! He decided to come see us a full month early, and was less than an hour away from being my wife’s greatest Mother’s Day gift she’ll ever receive!
