I'm new to 960 design, but I'm oldhat at mocking them up in photoshop, although they're starting to look fancy-smancier now thanks to all of these tutorials. Am going to slunk around for some more CSS tutorials. ;) Usually I make rough sketches first on paper, I like the feel of something real, plus it gives me a better visual blocking. But I think that's just a personal thing. Well, and tiny notebooks are handier in a purse instead of a laptop, less annoying user-interface-for-web designing-than smartphones.
