Site Changes – What’s New
I’ve been working hard the last couple days on some changes to the site. Most of which, will hardly be noticeable. Nevertheless, I want to constantly be working to improve the look, feel and function of this site. So here’s a quick rundown of what’s been tweaked.
20×20 Advertising
I added (10) 20×20 icon advertisements to the sidebar of the site. They are really inexpensive at $5 per month. These ads, plus the 125×125 ads are all handled dynamically via buysellads now. You can learn more about advertising on this site here.
Suggestion Box
As the last post alluded to, I’ve added a place for you to throw some suggestions my way for tutorials, articles, or anything else that’s on your mind. I’ve already gotten some great advice from Zoe. She suggested photoshop tutorials on: planet-making, swirls and swooshes with the pen tool (in photoshop), and realistic explosions. I am definitely looking into doing something with all three.

Just another way to say thank you to those of you that drop me a comment. CommentLuv will attempt to find your blog’s last post and drop you a link back to it. It’s a cool plugin, that you should definitely check out for your own blog, if you run one.
Sidebar Links and Headers
I made some small tweaks to the margins of all the headers and lists in order to help with some of the alignment issues. I also changed all the headers to all-caps and added a light gray hover to the links. These tweaks are small, but I felt were much needed.
Icons and Other Stuff
What’s a blog without some icons? I sprinkled some in where I saw fit. I’ve added a Design Float icon to every post for people to Float any posts they like. The rest of the changes are real minor or below the surface. I’m pretty happy with the way the site changes turned out. I especially wanted to give the sidebar a better look.

Good stuff man, the suggestion box is a good idea, only wish I could think of something to add to it.

So glad you like the suggestion box! I really hope It picks up steam and I can have some great conversation with the readers there.
I just finished fixing some of the issues that IE was causing on my sidebar. Wow, I really hate IE! Thanks to Max from Design Shard and Jacob from Just Creative Design for the help!

Nice additions to the blog. I keep seeing myinkblog more and more everywhere.
I’m not so sure about the small advertising blocks, does anybody has experience with the clickthrough these blocks?

Thanks for the comments. Love your site, btw. I’m not sure about how good the icon ads are yet. I’m really looking forward to seeing how they do. I don’t want to inundate my blog w/ too much advertising, so I thought it was a nice small alternative. Plus $5/mo is so nice and reasonable. The AJAX edit comments seems like a cool plugin, thanks for the tip. I’ll most likely be adding that soon!
