Have you ever finished a logo that you thought was high quality for a client, only to have it rejected? I know I have! That’s what happened with the Taconic Valley logo that you see above. The good news is, just because it didn’t fit with your client’s needs, doesn’t mean it can’t be perfect for someone else.

I have recently switched my advertising from handling everything myself to getting some help from BuySellAds. They provide MyInkBlog with a larger marketplace, automation, good stats, and an added degree of professionalism.

I don’t mean to sound like a broken record, but I really want to emphasize a sense of a design community at this site. My latest attempt to help with this is to create a Flickr group for the blog so you can showcase your work and be inspired by others.

I just added a contributions page to the site. I really want MyInkBlog to become a community of like-minded graphic and web designers that help each other out. It is my hope that we can get a few more contributors to this site.

Zoho is an online service offering a bunch of different apps to help you be more productive and organized. Many of their services are free of charge. I’m already addicted to using Zoho Sheet and Planner to manage my advertisers and daily tasks. They offer an invoicing service which is also quite handy.

I’m finally switching my hosting companies, something I’ve been meaning to do even before I wrote an article about why I hate my hosting company. Please excuse any bugs or downtime that may occur for the next day or two as the switch happens. I’m switching to Eleven2.

I’ve re-written portions of the Design a Website Header and Navigation tutorial. My apologies to anyone who finished the tutorial and would like to use it for part II. You’ll find that this version isn’t much different, but I feel it’s a little easier to step through and will work better for the coding portion.

Whether you love ‘em or hate ‘em social media sites are only getting stronger, and they are not going anywhere. The shear volume of them can be a tad overwhelming. That being said, they are vital to your success as a blogger.

The basic look is still the same, but the site has taken on a bit of a different header. The logo was made a little bigger and the splatter was turned. I also changed my slogan and make it look handwritten.
